The Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) inspects the climbing route of Island peak at the beginning of every climbing season, and install ladders if wide crevasses appears along the route. On 21st March 2022, our technical team have checked the climbing route of Island peak for this spring climbing season. At that time, there is no wide crevasse seen along the route. Our team will continue to monitor the route throughout the climbing season and will install ladders if/when wide crevasses appears along the route.
Our scope of work is to inspect crevasses along the route and install ladders when required. Climbers need to use their own ropes for climbing.
